Alderpeople are the cornerstone of Chicago's neighborhoods. They are seen as community leaders and problem-solvers, and are often the first place that Chicagoans turn to for a variety of information. Whether it's getting a pothole filled or helping connect someone to affordable housing, it's important to meet inquiries with robust information and compassion. One of my duties as Chief of Staff was to develop and manage external communications channels. This included building the government services' website, assembling newsletters, and sending out media alerts. Click through the sections below to see samples of the issues I worked on while in Alderwoman Hadden's office.

Media Contact

I serve as the media contact for Alderwoman Hadden. In this role, I work to schedule interviews between major media outlets and Alderwoman Hadden. In the event Alderwoman Hadden is unavailable for an interview, I step in to provide information, context, and resources for major and minor media outlets.

Author & Media Contact

I write and disseminate media advisories and press releases as a part of my role serving as Alderwoman Hadden's Chief of Staff. These range from announcements on legislative issues to new developments and more. I also serve as the press contact, making myself available to media outlets and journalists for any follow-up questions.

Author and Analyst

I work closely with Alderwoman Hadden to set the legislative agenda for the 49th Ward. We work alongside stakeholders to craft and introduce key legislation. Upon introduction, we continue to engage stakeholders, relevant City departments, and other legislators to work towards passage.

Author

In 2023, I worked with Alderwoman Hadden to launch a new monthly edition of our e-newsletter focused on legislative issues at City Hall. This provides a dedicated space for these important updates, while reserving our weekly e-newsletter for more neighborhood-centric news.

Developer

Working with Alderwoman Hadden, I built the 49th Ward website so it would be ready to go live on day one in office. Since then, I regularly update and maintain it, ensuring information is timely and relevant while maintaining an intuitive navigation system.

Author

During my time serving as Chief of Staff in the 49th Ward government services office, I oversaw and assembled the weekly e-newsletter. This went out to an audience of more than 8,000 subscribers and covered a variety of topics, from legislative updates to neighborhood development to community events. It serves as a hyper-local information hub.
